What rose quartz is
Rose quartz is a pink variety of quartz with the chemical composition silicon dioxide. GIA gives quartz a Mohs hardness of 7. Much rose quartz is translucent rather than transparent, and microscopic inclusions can contribute to its soft, cloudy appearance.
Color can range from very pale blush to a stronger pink. Natural-looking material may show internal veils, uneven color or small surface variations. These features describe appearance. They do not measure emotional power.
From love lore to a useful modern meaning
Historical accounts have connected rose quartz with love, beauty and reconciliation. GIA presents these associations as history and lore. That distinction matters. A cultural story can influence how we see an object without becoming a scientific claim.

The current bracelet uses pink beads the maker lists as rose quartz, combined with shell pearl style accents and silver-tone spacers. "Shell pearl style" describes the supplier-listed component and should not be read as a claim of naturally formed pearl. Independent identity, treatment, grade and origin are not implied for the exact bracelet unless supporting documentation is provided.
The mixed scale and surface of the beads is intentional: soft pink stone, rounded pearl-like accents and small silver-tone details create a tactile rhythm that is easy to find without looking.
How to care for it
Quartz is reasonably resistant to scratching, but the finished bracelet includes softer and plated components. Wipe it gently after wear with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid soaking, perfume, lotion buildup, household cleaners, high heat and long periods of strong direct light. Store it separately so the surface does not rub against harder jewelry.
